Dr. Akbarnia and M. Rogers

He soon focused on spine surgery and became trainer, speaker and consultant for several medical device companies: Medtronic, Synthes, Boston Scientific, Implanet, Zimmer, Stryker, B.Braun-Aesculap, etc. He actively colaborates with different Pain Units as pain surgery is one of his areas of interest. He is also involved in spine research and quality programs, as well as a network of international spine specialists.

Pioneering minimally invasive surgery since 2002, he has comunicated new techniques at a number of symposia and published some papers on dynamic stabilization. But what he mostly enjoys is training residents and surgeons on any of the new generation spinal techniques. Spinal deformity, anterior, posterior, oblique and lateral approaches, craneocervical, thoracic or lumbosacral regions, open, endoscopic, minimally invasive or percutaneous techniques, fusing, dynamic or disc replacements… He and his team know no technical limitations, what means a patient’s treatment will never be biased by a lack of training.
